IGTN is made up of groups and networks of feminists and activists focused on economic rights and social justice, working in tandem with economists, in the following major regions: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and the Gulf Region, and the United States. In all of these regions, teams have been working and sharing information within and between them in the last nine years.

These teams work with their counterparts internationally to strategize toward common goals around IGTN Programs of Advocacy, Capacity Building and Research. IGTN's network structure allows a horizontal and diffuse presence in different fora and arenas, by considering the diversity within it, though keeping shared vision on main political issues and its common focus on the intersection of trade, development and gender.
